Is there a way when cloning a project to keep also the material mapping in the cloned one? I know I can use the automapping but in this project I had to change a lot of things manually so it would save a lot of time if I could just copy everything.
Is there any news on this front? It is actually a really big problem. In design, it is extremely important to keep design history. So when we go from one phase to another (e.g. dispositionsforslag til projektforslag) we need to save a version from the existing phase before changing things in the new phase model. So the cloning feature is extremely important!
Here’s an example of where it goes wrong. When cloning, no materials or types are copied to the new project
Our thought was that we then could send materials again through Speckle to the cloned RTLCA model and then use auto-mapping of the original model to allign mapping. This works for the materials quantaties from Revit, but in most instances, we add custom materials to the project - especially for early stage models where the detail level of the Revit models is very low.
The example below only had 1 custom material, but I have many constructions with 6 custom materials added to the type. So cloning this project will take my many hours at the moment.
