Changelog: Welcome to Iceland and Faroe Island + more

Greetings @Community :tada:

We’re back with another major update! This time, we’re officially welcoming Iceland and the Faroe Islands to the Real-Time LCA platform! :earth_africa::sparkles: With this update, projects in these regions can now leverage localized regulations, emission data, and classification systems, making sustainability assessments more precise and aligned with national standards. But that’s not all—we’ve also packed in a range of powerful new features and improvements!

:rocket: New Country Support: Iceland & Faroe Islands

  • Localized Data & Regulations: Both Iceland and the Faroe Islands now have full platform support.
  • Iceland-Specific Additions:
    • HMS as a Calculation Type for Icelandic projects.
    • Emission values in A5 and B6 stages added for more accurate lifecycle assessments.
    • CCI Classification is now available for organizing and reporting Icelandic projects.
  • EPD Mapping Enhancements: Automatically apply missing phase standard values when mapping an EPD, saving time and ensuring consistency.

:hammer_and_pick: Additional Features & Enhancements

  • Lifetime Offset for Materials: A game-changer for facility management systems! Now, you can shift the lifetime of a material based on a base year, allowing for future emission projections based on facility management plans.
  • Expanded Classification Systems:
    • CCI and CCS classifications have been added—highly requested and now available for mapping!
  • Better Construction Management:
    • You can now filter Constructions by Owner.
    • Construction validation is now deployed.
  • LCAbyg Constructions in Real-Time LCA: Easily use your LCAbyg Constructions directly in the platform for a seamless transition.
  • Material Creation Improvements: A redefined and streamlined workflow for creating materials, making it faster and more intuitive.
  • Performance Boost: Increased stability and performance on the Project Overview page.
  • Material Comparison Upgrade: You can now compare different indicators in the Material Compare tool.
  • Wall Sweeps Added: Expanded the element category list to include Wall Sweeps.
  • Lifetime Offset in Project Breakdown: Now available in the Insights View for better long-term impact assessments.

:wrench: Fixes & Adjustments

  • Publishing Restrictions:
    • We’ve temporarily removed the option to publish materials and constructions to all users in Real-Time LCA. Until we develop a robust automatic QA solution, this feature will remain disabled for quality control purposes.
  • EPD Norway Datasets Cleanup: Removed datasets that did not meet our QA requirements—ensuring higher data quality for your projects.
  • Earth Moved by Machinery Fix: The unit was incorrect—now correctly asks for volume (m³) of Earth Moved instead of a general unit.

This is a massive step forward, and we’re beyond excited to see how you leverage these new capabilities! :earth_africa: As always, your feedback is invaluable in shaping the future of real-time LCA, so keep it coming.

We have dedicated the next release to bring Editing of constructions to the platform. :rocket:

Cheers,
The Real-Time LCA Team

Good work team :muscle: A lot of great feature updates :star_struck:

Could clarify what you mean by this?

Hi @MarkLabrosse

The validation process here is related to to the datasets that we deploy under the different Owners in Constructions.
So ie. the LCAbyg Constructions have gone through a validation process and so will others that will appear for other owners.

Hi @martinromby
This is really great! LCAByg has some pretty easy to use constructions, however I have a question regarding this… Have you currently implemented all constructions or is it an ongoing proces? - and if so, when can we expect a full implementation?

I just tried to find some of the commonly ‘difficult’ mappings in RTLCA;
If I search ‘Dør’ in LCAByg Constructions, I get about 16 different results… When I do the same in the RTLCA library filtered to Owner: LCAByg I get 0 results.

Hi @MirnesT

It is a work that is still in progress, but I just heard back from the team that they expect to be done by the end of this week :raised_hands:
We wanted to get the construction that we already made into the hands of all of you as quick as possible so we’re deploying them incrementally to the platform.
I will revert back when we have finalized the upload.
