Changelog: Conversational LCA, AI Classification & the SI Agent Beta 🤖

Hey @Community :waving_hand:

This is a big one. We’ve shipped three major AI features this cycle — one is live for everyone, and two are available in early access. Plus the usual round of improvements and fixes. Let’s dig in:

:robot: RTLCA MCP Server — Talk to Your Projects

The Real-Time LCA MCP Server is now live and available to all users. This is a hosted Model Context Protocol server that connects an AI like Claude directly to your RTLCA workspace — authenticated via your existing login, no API keys required.

Once connected, your AI can:

  • List and manage building projects and view GWP metrics at a glance
  • Map BIM materials to EPDs, preview AI-suggested matches, or trigger full automapping
  • Search the global EPD library by name, category, datasource, or manufacturer
  • Generate BR18-compliant XML and Excel reports and download them directly
  • Pull GWP summaries, stage breakdowns, and emissions-over-time data from your dashboards

53 tools are available across 7 functional areas. Connect at https://mcp.realtimelca.com/mcp — or read the full setup guide and example prompts in Kilian’s post on the community:

:label: AI-Powered BIM7AA Classification — Beta

We’re launching a beta of AI-powered building element classification. When classification codes from your BIM source are missing or incorrect, you can now trigger auto-classification directly from the material mapping view — and the platform will suggest the correct BIM7AA codes based on the material, type, and available properties.

Results are shown in a review table where you can select which suggestions to accept before they’re applied. AI-generated classifications are clearly labelled and should always be reviewed before use.

If you’d like to join the beta, reach out and we’ll enable it for your organisation.

:speech_balloon: SI Agent — Beta

We’re also launching an early beta of the SI Agent — the conversational AI layer built natively into Real-Time LCA. Rather than switching to an external AI tool, the SI Agent lets you interact with your projects, ask questions, and trigger workflows from within the platform itself.

The agent is powered by our backend agent service, which orchestrates specialist agents via the MCP Server. The current phase focuses on getting the core interaction working; generative UI components (inline charts, EPD tables, mapping previews) are on the roadmap.

Reach out if you want early access.

:triangular_ruler: Describe Your Reference Areas

You can now add a description to each Reference Area on a project — useful for documenting which spaces are included, especially for audits and handovers.

We also removed a long-standing constraint: it’s now possible to add multiple Reference Areas of the same type. Previously, each Reference Area Type was limited to a single summed entry — a user pointed out this didn’t cover all real-world cases, and they were right. You can now add as many entries per type as your project requires.

:recycling_symbol: Waste Sorting Stays in Sync

When you update material quantities or exclude materials in the mapping view, the platform will now prompt you to update your waste sorting weights accordingly, closing a subtle but real gap in accuracy.

:bug: Bug Fixes

  • :abacus: Fixed a calculation issue where materials with both GWP and GWP-Total values could produce incorrect results after a construction was updated.
  • :building_construction: Fixed an error when adding special conditions to materials in the type view.
  • :iceland: Fixed Boverket generic data showing zero emissions in the project breakdown for certain Icelandic projects.
  • :electric_plug: Fixed a login issue affecting users of Speckle Revit Connector 3.17.2.
  • :card_index_dividers: Fixed a validation error during project creation still creating an orphan Speckle project in the background.
  • :artist_palette: Fixed incorrect colours in the inventory list.
  • :computer_mouse: Fixed clicking a project card image triggering an unwanted page reload.
  • :label: Fixed the special condition (SC) button disappearing when a construction was dragged onto the outer collection row instead of a specific child type.
  • :robot: Fixed auto-classification only sending the first material ID when triggered on a type — it now sends all child material IDs correctly.

Plenty to explore this cycle. Whether you want to try the MCP server today or get on the waitlist for the AI features, we’d love to hear how it goes — drop your thoughts in the community. :seedling:
