Introducing the Real-Time LCA MCP Server
We’re thrilled to announce the public launch of the Real-Time LCA MCP Server. With this hosted Model Context Protocol server you connect your AI directly to Real-Time LCA. No local installation, no manual API calls, no scripting. Just natural language and your existing Real-Time LCA account.
What you can do
Connect once, and your AI gains access to your Real-Time LCA workspace:
-
Projects: List and manage building projects; view GWP metrics, status, and metadata at a glance
-
Material Mapping: Map BIM materials to EPDs from the global library, preview AI-suggested matches, or trigger full automapping in one step
-
BIM Inspection: Traverse construction hierarchies, identify unmapped types, and drill into material properties
-
LCA Reports: Generate BR18-compliant XML and Excel reports and download them directly
-
EPD & Materials Library: Search by name, category, datasource, or manufacturer; create, patch, and map EPDs and constructions to your inventory.
-
Dashboards & Timelines: Pull GWP summaries, emissions-over-time charts, stage breakdowns, and project event histories
53 tools are available across 7 functional areas.
How to connect
The server is hosted at https://mcp.realtimelca.com/mcp and ready to use. Authentication is handled via OAuth using your existing Real-Time LCA login — no API keys required.
Claude AI
Configure MCP servers in Claude.ai
-
Add servers at claude.ai/customize/connectors. On Team and Enterprise plans, only admins can add servers.
-
Plus sign → Add custom connector → Add this URL https://mcp.realtimelca.com/mcp
-
Authenticate the MCP server
-
Complete any required authentication steps in Claude.ai.
The next time you mention RTLCA in a chat, Claude will detect the access and ask you for permission to execute tools.
Claude Code
Run this single command in your terminal:
claude mcp add realtimelca --transport http https://mcp.realtimelca.com/mcp
Claude Code will prompt you to authenticate on first use.
Local AI
We are also preparing a guide on how to connect to this MCP via a local LLM. Then you don’t need Claude or other subscriptions. No token limit, no sharing of data. Stay tuned…
