Import geometry from Rhino

Hi guys

I have a model in Rhino that I would like to export to RTLCA. I did this a couple of weeks ago with the exact same layer structure and the areas were exported perfectly.

Today I made a few changes to the model and re-uploaded it. Now, all the areas are gone… What can the reason be?

NB!
I’m using Ladybug Tools to add constructions to a simply volume study model. Other than it not working right now, the workflow has worked pretty well so far

Hi Mark,

Maybe I’ll be able to help you if you could answer a few questions.

Is the Count (Pieces) still correct?
Have you changed the materials? I see that there is no material assigned? Was there any before?
And how did you send the data, by selection, by layer, or somehow differently?

  1. The count is correct.
  2. When the amounts were erased, I thought that it wasn’t possible to overrule geometry from Rhino yet. So I ended up making a new RTLCA model, so that’s why there’s no materials assigned. But there was before.
  3. I’ve tried both sending Everything, Selection and Layers. Neither works

Okay. In this case, I have another question:

Have you had Materials defined for the layers before? I would say if there is no material, the elements might be skipped. Can you try defining materials for the layer and send again?

Just created some custom materials and resend the model. Still no areas  But using the Default material should work anyways, so doubt my material naming makes any difference other than giving a poor overview on the browser, right?
