I have been reviewing the EPD comparison for the reinforcement steel products for concrete, and I suspect there might be an error in the data or the column chart.
The product shown in red appears to be significantly more environmentally friendly than the other product. However, looking closer at the documentation, the EPD for the red product is stated in a declared unit of 1 kg, whereas the other product is stated in 1 ton (1,000 kg).
Because of this difference in units, the comparison in the chart is skewed by a factor of 1,000. Could you please look into this and confirm if we need to scale the data to ensure a fair comparison?
Thank you for flagging this. You’re correct that the discrepancy in the comparison is due to the difference in declared units (1 kg vs. 1 ton). However, this only affects the visual comparison; you can safely use either material in your mapping, as the underlying calculation correctly accounts for the unit difference.
I’ll make sure this is fixed in the comparison function.
Separately, I also noticed a data error on “Reinforcement steel products for concrete,” which I’ll get corrected as soon as possible
